Summary: | A high degree of adhesion between the coating and the article to be coated is necessary to ensure high corrosion resistance of the coated article. One of the key conditions for high adhesive strength of the coating is uniform and sufficient thermal activation of the surface with complete removal of microcontaminants, including oxide and chemical films. In order to provide such pre-treatment, glow discharge plasma was used. A modernized technology of etching by an autonomous glow discharge based on a cold hollow cathode was used. Coating parameters such as hardness, structure, and adhesive strength were studied during the scratch test. The parameters of coatings deposited at different etching parameters were compared. A comparison was made of the corrosion resistance of coatings deposited at various pre-etching parameters. |
