Summary: | This paper is concerned with the derivation of an explicit adapted Numerov method for solving a class of second order initial value problems. Coefficients of the method are functions of v and obtained from solving certain simplified order conditions. The stability property of this method is analysed. This method is applied to several second order problems to provide numerical solutions in comparison with the exact solutions and numerical solutions of the existing method. The results show that this method is stable for a large interval of integration. |
