Description
Summary:Electric energy demand has increased recently, power networks have become larger and more advanced, hence power systems have become a mature technology, they operate near their limits, these factors increase the probability of power system blackout, the operator in the control center must develop a comprehensive restoration strategy, with a particular focus on minimizing the time required for recovery. This study presents the development of an expert plan that incorporates a novel strategy, serving as a comprehensive framework to facilitate recovery methods using a modified depth-first search (MDFS) technique to find optimum paths. Optimal allocation of distributed generators (DG) can enhance the voltage profile of the system and reduce total power losses. This work introduces a technique for efficiently determining the best positioning and size of distributed generation (DG) units inside a grid through the utilization of particle swarm optimization (PSO). The analysis focuses on the impact of DG in reducing loss during restoration, which is found high based on the results. Priority is given to restoring DGs with strong black start capability within the constraints of the network and the DGs themselves. The efficacy of the suggested restoration method is confirmed using the IEEE 39-bus system by MATLAB simulation.
