Description
Summary:This research presents the design of a GPS-based antenna tracker system with PID control for UAV ground stations. The antenna tracker is primarily for aligning the antenna with the UAV’s position continuously to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted connection during flight. The system utilizes GPS data to determine the UAV’s coordinates then the trigonometry and haversine formula is employed to calculate the accurate pan and tilt angle for the antenna. The PID control mechanism adjusts the antenna’s orientation by reducing the error between the intended position and the actual position. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the GPS-based antenna tracker design with PID control, highlightingits potential for enhancing the performance of UAV ground stations in various applications.
