Description
Summary:Food storage is a critical aspect of the food industry, ensuring that perishable goods are preserved, maintaining their quality and extending their shelf life. Phase Change Materials (PCMs) have shown potential in providing effective temperature control during storage, mitigating temperature fluctuations and improving food safety. This research proposal aims to investigate different PCMs and their thermal properties to determine their suitability for food storage applications. The research will focus on assessing the melting/freezing temperature range, latent heat capacity, thermal stability, and compatibility with food products. Effective temperature control is crucial for ensuring food quality and safety during storage and transportation. Phase Change Materials (PCMs) have emerged as a promising solution for maintaining temperature stability in various industries, including food storage. This research proposal aims to explore the selection and optimization of PCMs for different types of food products. Factors such as the required temperature range for storage, the desired duration of temperature maintenance, and the specific requirements of various food items will be considered to determine the most suitable PCMs.
