Reconstruction of 3-dimensional ship hull geometries from 2-dimensional drawings

This paper presents a computational procedure, based on the theory of B-spline and NURBS curves and surfaces, for the reconstruction of 3-dimensional ship hull surfaces from 2-dimensional drawings. The paper focuses on the numerical procedure for defining and manipulating curves and surfaces. A soft...

Description
Summary:This paper presents a computational procedure, based on the theory of B-spline and NURBS curves and surfaces, for the reconstruction of 3-dimensional ship hull surfaces from 2-dimensional drawings. The paper focuses on the numerical procedure for defining and manipulating curves and surfaces. A software platform was also developed to support the complete computational procedure in a semi-automated interactive manner, through an advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI).
