Summary: | The influence of nanoparticle additives on the physical and mechanical characteristics of hardened self-compacting concrete (SCC) was studied. Research included SCC concretes modified with different amounts of SiO2, TiO2 and Al2O3 nanoparticle additives and one reference concrete made without nanoparticles. Rheological properties, microstructure and compressive strength were determined. The obtained results showed that SiO2 and Al2O3 additions worsened the workability while the compressive strength was increased in the case of SiO2 addition. All studied nanomaterials densified the microstructure of the hydrated binder matrix. |
