Neural correlates of success and failure signals during neurofeedback learning

Highlights • Signals of failure correlated early during learning with deactivation in the precuneus. • Signals of success correlated later with deactivation in the anterior cingulate cortex. • Intensity of the latter predicted the efficacy of the neurofeedback intervention.
