Guanidine hydrochloride: An active and simple catalyst for Mannich type reaction in solvent-free condition
Commercially available guanidine hydrochloride (GuHC1) has been found to be a highly efficient catalyst for the Mannich reaction. β-Amino carbonyl compounds were obtained in reasonable yields when the Mannich reaction was carried out at room temperature under solvent-free conditions.
