Summary:Four spirostanol glycosides, dioscin (1), asperin (2), degalactotigonin (3), and soladulcoside A (4) were isolated from the whole plants of Solanum nigrum. Their chemical structures were elucidated by analyses of their ESI‐MS, NMR spectral data, and comparison with those reported in the literature. This is the first report on the isolation of dioscin and asperin from S. nigrum.
