Flavonol glycosides and dammarane saponin from Gouania leptostachya

Using combined chromatographic methods, two flavonol glycosides and one dammarane‐type saponin were isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Gouania leptostachya. Their structures were elucidated to be quercetin 3‐O‐β‐D‐xylopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐L‐rhamnopyranoside (1), quercetin 3‐O‐6‐E‐p‐c...

Description
Summary:Using combined chromatographic methods, two flavonol glycosides and one dammarane‐type saponin were isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Gouania leptostachya. Their structures were elucidated to be quercetin 3‐O‐β‐D‐xylopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐L‐rhamnopyranoside (1), quercetin 3‐O‐6‐E‐p‐coumaroyl‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐L‐rhamnopyranoside (2) and joazeiroside A (3) by 1D‐, 2D‐NMR, and MS spectra and in comparison with those reported in the literature. These compounds have been reported from the Gouania genus for the first time.
