Summary:A new Anderson‐type heteropolyanion‐supported nickel imidazole complex, [Himi]2[Ni(imi)3(H2O){Ni(OH)6Mo6O18}]·2H2O (imi = imidazole) (1) has been prepared by conventional aqueous solution synthesis and structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction as well as by infrared spectroscopy, elemental and thermogravimetric analysis. Compound 1 possesses a one‐dimensional (1D) wave‐like infinite chain structure composed of Anderson‐type heteropolyanion [Ni(OH)6Mo6O18]4− covalently linked by [Ni(imi)3(H2O)]2+ unit. Furthermore, the chains are extended into a 2D supramolecular framework in the ac plane via hydrogen‐bonding interactions.
