The next segment considers higher education and the extent to which examinations have been opened up to the people since the days of Tsarist Russia. Later scenes include Vladimir Tolstoy, grandson of the famed author, cycling to a collective farm when he oversees planting and works alongside children. Other segments focus on civilians at an art gallery, tourism in the Caucasian mountains and a young actress receiving an award.
