Summary:This composite image spans the scale of design activity, from regional planning, city planning, architecture, and transportation infrastructure, to the more detailed presence of urban graphic objects that still adorn the townscape. On display is a cross-disciplinary design perspective that depicts the reclamation of an Italian region under the rule of fascism in the early part of the twentieth century. The macro to micro continuum – from regional planning to detailed building inscription – is emphasized if read from left to right and top to bottom, from the largest to smallest of symbolic elements serving the political aims of fascism.
