Simplified design methodology for RF dielectric homogeneous and graded index lenses
Published 2024“…The mathematical model is derived from the theory of ray optics to design 2D planar and convex lens design. The performance of these lenses is then verified in simulations with a 15 to 40 GHz WR51 waveguide probe, demonstrating a gain enhancement of approximately 15 dB and a reduced half-power beamwidth by a factor of approximately 7.5 throughout the frequency band.…”

Co-ordination of building services and procurement methods for highly serviced buildings
Published 2003“…Five propositions are addressed by the work which are: (1) coordination of services is influenced by the management of design; (2) coordination of building services is influenced by the management of construction; (3) coordination is not only a technical issue but an exercise in management—it is also influenced by the construction professional's working practices; (4) coordination of services is influenced by the chosen project procurement method; (5) project success is influenced by effective building services co-ordination and the use of an appropriate procurement method. …”

Sustainable agro-food supply chain design using two-stage hybrid multi-objective decision-making approach
Published 2016“…The analyses of the numerical results provide important organizational, practical and policy insights on (1) the impact of financial and environmental sustainability on supply chain network design (2) the use of environmental emission, water footprint, societal and cost tradeoff analysis for making informed decision on supply chain investment.…”

Anticipate to participate to integrate: bridging evidence-based design and human factors ergonomics to advance safer healthcare facility design
Published 2016“…Methods: The thesis leverages a grant to create a Safety Risk Assessment (SRA) toolkit for HC facility design using: (1) consensus-based methods to develop built-environment considerations for falls in HC facility design, (2) a mixed methods approach to test the SRA in hypothetical scenarios, (3) a mixed methods approach to test the SRA in real-world scenarios, (4) quantitative and qualitative analysis using an inductive and abductive approach to construct grounded theory to develop a core theme and a theoretical framework for proactively considering safety in HC facility design, (5) an extended systematic literature review to identify additional system considerations of the organization and people, and (6) established thinking to advance new theoretical frameworks to achieve the thesis objectives. …”

Real-time VLSI architecture for bio-medical monitoring
Published 2008“…The SSS2 platform specifies a parametric number of scalar processing elements, based on multiple 32-bit Sparc-compliant engines, augmented with LE2, an ESL-designed 2-way LIW/SIMD accelerator. LE2, which is purely designed in C, exposes a consistent interface to its SIMD datapath directly which is directly derived from the C-source of open-source image processing codes. …”
