Description
Summary:Adsorption of cochineal dyeing on wool and its thermodynamic were investigated under dyeing conditions of pH = 3, a material to liquor ratio (MLR) of 1:50, and a contact time of 90 min. The data of adsorption equilibria were analyzed by using various adsorption isotherm models. The results show that adsorption behavior of the dye could be described reasonably well by either Langmuir or Freundlich models, with a high correlation coefficient (R2). The values for heat of dyeing and entropy of dyeing were determined +18.03 kJ and +66 J/K, respectively. The positive values of △H3 indicate an endothermic adsorption process. The negative values of AG+3 show spontaneous nature of adsorption process and the positive values of AS+3 indicate the affinity of the adsorption for dyes.
