Summary: | A correlation has been found between the thermodynamic and adhesion properties of filled binary polymer blends. Introduction of filler into a blend of 2 thermodynamically incompatible polymers leads to an increase in thermodynamic stability, thermodynamic work of adhesion, strength of adhesion to the solid surface and of that between the components of the binary blend. Clear correlations were found between the thermodynamic work of adhesion and the thermodynamic stability of the filled binary blend, also between the adhesion properties and the thermodynamic state of the polymer blend. |
