Description
Summary:Sorption and diffusion of dimethylformamide and water in the system aromatic polyamide-dimethylformamide-water was studied as a function of temperature in the region of highly concentrated solutions. The sorption capacity and diffusion coefficients of the two low-molecular-weight components were measured in dependence on concentration and temperature. The shape of sorption isotherms of water and the character of concentration dependence of its diffusion coefficient are strongly influenced by dimethylformamide which blocks the amide groups of the polymer. Henry and Langmuir parameters were determined in the combined model of sorption; the activation energy was calculated for diffusion of water and of dimethylformamide.
