Properties and thermal decomposition in air atmosphere of complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with 2,6-dichlorobenzoic acid

The conditions for the formation of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) 2,6-dichlorobenzoates were studied and their quantitative compositions and solubilities in water at 293 K were determined. The IR spectra of the prepared complexes were recorded and their thermal decompositions in air were investigated. D...

Description
Summary:The conditions for the formation of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) 2,6-dichlorobenzoates were studied and their quantitative compositions and solubilities in water at 293 K were determined. The IR spectra of the prepared complexes were recorded and their thermal decompositions in air were investigated. During heating, the hydrated complexes M(C 7H 3O 2Cl 2) · nH 2O lose the molecules of water of crystallization in two steps, before decomposing to the oxides (Co, Ni) or gaseous products (Cu).
