Summary: | A new apparatus for separating liquid-liquid dispersions is described and its operational characteristics are outlined. The emulsion flows through a perforated plate where inversion of the phases occurs. The device operates effectively at high flow rates without changes in the pressure drop and allows reasonable efficiency even in the presence of solid particles in all cases when the diameter of the droplets to be removed is above 100 μm. |
