Description
Summary:The OH radical concentration and rotational temperature were measured in a stoichiometric hydrogen-oxygen flame under atmospheric pressure using infrared emission spectra. A highly non-equilibrium OH concentration was observed in the post flame gases and the OH decay profile was consistent with a second order dependence on the OH concentration. The associated OH decay rate constant was found to be substantially lower than the predicted values from some flame models. It appears that diffusional transport may be partly responsible for these discrepancies.
