Quantum dissipative systems in crystallographic potentials

Description
Summary:The influence of a nonlocal dissipation on the energy band structure of a particle moving in a d-dimensional crystallographic potential is investigated. It is shown that depending on the values of the friction constant η and the tunneling amplitude y the band width Δ E can be zero or finite at T→0, corresponding to localized or delocalized states respectively. The low- T dependences of the band width (or the effective mass m ∗) and of the correlation function are found also.
