Description
Summary:The zinc(II), cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes of 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole: M(DTZ)X 2 (MCd, XCl, NO 3(H 2O): MHg, XCl, Br,I) and M(DTZ) 2X 2 (MZn, XCl,Br,I, NO 3(H 2O); MCd, XBr,I; MHg, XNO 3) were prepared and investigated. All the complexes behave as non-electrolytes in nitromethane solution; all the anion are coordinated, the nitrate group as monodentate. The M(DTZ) 2X 2 have a tetrahedral [N 2X 2] coordination, the ligand molecule acting as N-monodentate. The Cd(DTZ)Cl 2 complex has a presumable polymeric coordination with the ligand molecule and the chloride ions, each differently coordinated. The Cd(DTZ)(NO 3) 2·H 2O seems to have a tetrahedral [N,H 2O,(ONO 2) 2] coordination with N-monodentate ligand. The Hg(DTZ)X 2 (XCl,Br,I) complexes have a tetrahedral [N 2X 2] coordination with a N,N-bridging ligand molecule.
