Description
Summary:The gas flow modulation technique (GFM) is a novel noninvasive approach for measuring the axial gas dispersion coefficient in bubble columns. The approach overcomes the limitations of traditional tracer-based techniques, qualifying it as a promising candidate for measurements in an industrial setting. The current work elaborates systematic guidelines for selecting the experimental parameters for GFM. These guidelines are crucial for its successful application. In addition, a novel approach is proposed for confidently extracting the values and uncertainty limits of the axial gas dispersion coefficient. Afterward, we show the application of these guidelines in the frame of a case study that serves the purpose of illustrating their application and demonstrating their usefulness.
