The existence of salts of the oxyfluoborate ion [BF3O]2
The soluble hydrated oxyfluoborates previously reported as "CuBF 3 O*5H 2 O" and "ZnBF 3 O*7H 2 O" are now believed to be the fluosilicates CuSiF 6 *4H 2 O and ZnSiF 6 *6H 2 O. The insoluble anhydrous oxyfluoborates of Sr, Ba, and Pb could not be prepared.
