Description
Summary:Objective: Identify the elements that compose the project portfolio management (PPM) in a Public Research Center (PRC) to propose a model adapted to the Unit. Methodology/approach: The research strategy used was the case study and data collection was performed using different sources of evidence, using the PPM model with seven dimensions proposed for a non-profit organization as a protocol. Originality/relevance: In the public sector there are few successful cases of using PPM models. The different models were not specifically developed for science and technology institutions or research corporations. Main results: All dimensions of the PPM model were highlighted in the PRC. Elements such as strategic alignment, senior management involvement, and project evaluation were identified. A PPM model adapted to the characteristics of the Center was developed.
