Description
Summary:As the number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices increasing day by day, providing security for the data from these devices is the need of the hour. As the devices in the IoT network are constrained in terms of computation, memory and power, implementing traditional security algorithms is inconceivable. Sensitive data moving across the IoT networks such as credit card information, patient body vital parameters etc. need to be safeguarded to avoid hazardous circumstances when exploited to hackers. In this paper, we propose a patient monitoring system that uses a secured Internet of Things architecture to provide security for the data transmitted from the device. We further elaborate on the performance of different encryption algorithms and their applicability to different scenarios. The model presented in this paper will serve as a reference for the novice applications that are built around the cheap and constrained devices and demand security.
