EN EL VÓRTICE DE LOS ESTUDIOS CULTURALES, NAUFRAGAN LOS ESTUDIOS LITERARIOS

Los estudios literarios, han sido subsumidos por una práctica crítica que en su momento se creyó revolucionaria y que se denomina estudios culturales. Dada esta realidad, pareciera indispensable repensar la situación actual y el futuro de la crítica literaria. Pero esa devaluación también afecta a la literatura misma. Esta y la ciencia que la acompaña han experimentado un notorio retroceso con el auge de la implementación de los denominados estudios culturales que se definen por la ampliación del canon. Ampliación que pareciera no constituirse sobre la base de alguna experiencia estética, sea en la tradicional concepción kantiana, o en la renovada proposición de Rancière o corresponden al campo de estudio de la antropología cultural. Recuperar la existencia del hecho estético, es nuestra principal intención. Además, procuramos la definición más demarcada de texto, desleída por los estudios culturales que amplían dicha noción desde el lenguaje escrito hasta el terreno de films, fotografías, series de televisión e incluso instituciones. Este es nuestro punto de partida: el goce proporcionado por el hecho estético y el indispensable juicio valorativo que lo acompaña. En el sostén de esta conjetura, refulge la idea clave de que todo hecho estético es un hecho político, como sostiene Rancière. Literary studies have been subsumed by a critical practice that at the time was believed to be revolutionary and is called cultural studies. Given this reality, it would seem indispensable to rethink the current situation and the future of literary criticism. But this devaluation also affects literature itself. Literature and the science that accompanies it have experienced a notorious setback with the boom in the implementation of the socalled cultural studies, which are defined by the expansion of the canon. An enlargement that does not seem to be constituted based on any aesthetic experience, whether in the traditional Kantian conception, or in Rancière's renewed proposition, or correspond to the field of study of cultural anthropology. To recover the existence of the aesthetic fact is our main intention. In addition, we seek the most demarcated definition of text, dislocated by cultural studies that extend this notion from written language to the field of films, photographs, television series and even institutions. This is our starting point: the enjoyment provided by the aesthetic fact and the indispensable evaluative judgment that accompanies it. Underpinning this c
