Description
Summary:The recovery of alcohols from aqueous solutions by supercritical extraction has received considerable attention during the last decade. Light hydrocarbons appeared to be the most promising near critical fluid solvents for these separations. Vapor-liquid equilibria for the isobutane-ethanol, isobutane-1-propanol, and propane-ethanol systems were measured in the temperature range of 308.6--375.1 K and at pressures up to 43.81 bar. The results show azeotrope formation for the isobutane-ethanol system.
