Thermodynamic properties of the nickel silicide NiSi between 8 and 400 K

The molar heat capacities of NiSi have been determined by low-temperature adiabatic calorimetry at temperatures between 8 and 400 K. From the heat capacity data the derived thermodynamic functions Δ 0 T H 0 and S 0 were calculated. At T = 298.15 K a molar standard heat capacity of 45.55 ± 0.05 J K −...

Description
Summary:The molar heat capacities of NiSi have been determined by low-temperature adiabatic calorimetry at temperatures between 8 and 400 K. From the heat capacity data the derived thermodynamic functions Δ 0 T H 0 and S 0 were calculated. At T = 298.15 K a molar standard heat capacity of 45.55 ± 0.05 J K −1 mol −1 and a molar standard entropy of 47.58 ± 0.04 J K −1 mol −1 have been found. The entropy of formation for NiSi was calculated to be −1.11 ± 0.08 J K −1 mol −1.
