Summary: | Little data are available on the use of transactional analysis (TA) as a tool for increasing perceived decision making, despite the widespread use of the technique. A study of the impact of the application of TA in an organizational environment where measurement of the program was possible showed that TA will result in the improved perception of decision making by organizational members. An intact work unit (family group) from a division of the home office of a national company initially received the TA training and participated in the evaluation. The researchers employed a sample pre-test, post-test control group design. The chief goal of the TA program was to enhance employee satisfaction with the work environment. The training and development staff of the firm conducted the training. Changing employee perceptions of decision making in a positive and significant direction was a basic purpose of the TA program. Statistical analysis of the research data confirmed that an improvement in perceived decision making occurred in the TA-trained group. |
