Summary: | In the increasingly global workplace, if an organization is to maintain and increase its international presence, its leaders need to have the capabilities and mind-set to succeed in diverse and fluid environments. In Asia an effective leader needs to be able to deal with multicultural teams and to communicate and lead across distances, cultures, and geographies. Cross-cultural and intercultural management skills are therefore becoming an essential leadership tool. This article examines what skills are required to bridge the cultural divides in diverse and multicultural Asian work contexts, and, most importantly, how leaders can acquire these skills. |
