Description
Summary:The Boundary Element Method is often used in the theory of plate bending. Considered problem is a coupled problem of the fluid-structure type. A plate is immersed partially or totally in the fluid (water). It is assumed that the fluid is inviscid and incompressible. The boundary and domain integral equations are used to describe the plate motion and the hydrodynamic pressure of the surrounding liquid. The set of constant boundary elements for a plate and internal collocation points associated with lumped masses associated with rectangular sub-surfaces are introduced. Present formulation leads to the fully populated liquid mass matrix, which is adjoined to a diagonal plate mass matrix.
