Comparative Analysis of Transformations of Heavy Oil Feedstock Model Components under Cracking Conditions in the presence of Metaland Acid Catalysts

The roles of a metal catalyst and hydrogen donors in thermal cracking were studied. The results were compared with those for a typical acid-type cracking catalyst (EMKAT). The role of the metal catalyst in thermal cracking was shown too consist of hydrogen-transfer reactions in mainly non-ionic form...

Description
Summary:The roles of a metal catalyst and hydrogen donors in thermal cracking were studied. The results were compared with those for a typical acid-type cracking catalyst (EMKAT). The role of the metal catalyst in thermal cracking was shown too consist of hydrogen-transfer reactions in mainly non-ionic forms. The ease of dehydrogenation of the hydrogen donor determined the degree of suppression of the cracking reactions.
