Summary: | In present study solution 1 M HCl acid with different concentration of 2-(p-Tolyl) ethylamine used to study the resistance of Low carbon steel toward corrosion using gravimetric and potentiodynamic polarization techniques. The inhibitor demonstrated a high inhibitory effectiveness (IE (% in acidic solutions, When the inhibitor’s concentration and temperature rise which tend to decline the efficiency. The best value of efficiency for both weight loss and polarization was at 30°C with 400 ppm concentration of inhibitor due to the formation of a layer on the metal’s surface as a result of the inhibitor adhering to it, as well as the structure’s inclusion of an amine and methyl group, which is an important component of the adsorption process, both the polarization and weight loss approaches yield results for corrosion inhibition efficiency that are acceptable. According to several researches, the 2-(p-tolyl) ethylamine molecule was known to be one of the most efficient inhibitors. The thermodynamic parameters, entropy change, enthalpy, and absorption free energy, were calculated, and their values were suitable and in excellent agreement with prior investigations. |
