Summary: | [...]strategies and interventions motivated by the learning sciences have overall helped students learn, whether they be human instructors or intelligent adaptive learning environments. (2000) articulated “seven critical issues” that must be scrutinized when evaluating any study on the ethical conduct of clinical research: value, scientific validity, fair subject selection, favorable risk-benefit ratio, independent review, informed consent by the participant, and respect for enrolled participants. Researchers in the medical and social sciences in the USA are required to complete training on the ethical treatment of participants every two years and need to have all of their studies approved by a 5-member Institutional Review Board, including two members of the community outside of academia. [...]our community needs to explicitly declare our procedures for minimizing biases. |
