Summary: | Anodic potentiostatic and galvanostatic transients of an Fe electrode in (NH sub 4 ) sub 2 SO sub 4 at pH = 2 for different concentrations were carried out. The electrical responses in both cases were similar to those obtained by previous workers with similar systems and are related to the growth of a salt film that covers the electrode surface. Part of the transients can be interpreted through a model of crystal growth. The critical oversaturations and other parameters obtained from such analysis are reasonable when compared with previous work. Graphs, photomicrographs. 17 ref.--AA |
