Summary: | Using the system of rapid heating, the thermolysis kinetics of polypropylene (PP) was studied with heating rates in the 150–4760 K min
−1 range. For the formation processes of fragments with
m
z
= 41, 42, 43, identical rising dependences of the effective activation energy on the transformation degree have been revealed. The shape of the obtained dependences is due to the occurrence of parallel, competing reactions, interpreted as the transformation processes of associated and non-associated macromolecules of PP. This mechanism also explains the kinetic laws for the overall thermolysis of PP at normal heating rates. |
