Description
Summary:For many companies, success frequently depends on forming a cohesive group out of people who, in other situations, might not necessarily interact well. In today's marketplace, the most successful companies are those that can create synergies, sparks, and a sense of purpose among divergent team members. These companies create environments where managers are highly aware of their own strengths and limitations, and are able to identify and develop their staff's potential. Managers succeed because they recognize potential in others and turn their staff into a productive team. Team-building is a continuous, evolving process. To be effective, team-building starts with a clear vision of the team's goals and a well defined strategy on how to attain those goals. Peak performance teams share a number of common characteristics, including: 1. a unified understanding and vision of the company's goals, objectives, and future, 2. team members are aware of their individual skills, their precise role, their value to the team, and the contributions of other team members, and 3. open, informal, and ongoing communication.
