Summary: | Concrete plays an important role in the development of the construction industry. It is widely used in construction projects and infrastructure development. Various natural materials like sand, stones, and other materials are consumed in higher quantities while making coarse and fine aggregates in concrete . Due to this, the requirement for natural materials is increasing on a daily basis. This leads to the extraction of these materials from various natural sources in higher quantities. Extraction of sand and stones from the river leads to an increase in depth of the river bed and a decrease in water flow. Due to this, there is an increase in demand for more eco-friendly materials in concrete. In this research cement and sand are partially replaced with marble dust powder and quartzite dust powder respectively. Experimental studies were performed by partially replacing cement and sand at the various quantities and then compared with standard concrete of grade M30 . There is an increase in Compressive, Flexural, and Tensile strengths of concrete by 21%, 15%, and 32% respectively when replacement of cement by marble dust powder at 10% and sand by quartzite dust powder at 30%. Concrete made up of marble dust powder and quartzite dust powder showed higher performance for 28, 60, 90, and 120 days than conventional concrete when exposed to sea, sulphate, and acidic water. |
