Summary:The provided text showcases the presentation of calculated Gibbs energy values for octyl alcohol, comparing them with those found in scientific literature. The similarity between these values suggests that the method devised by Van Krevelen and Chermin is effective in determining Gibbs energy for various compounds like nitriles, amines, amides, simple and complex ethers, and aldehydes where such data is lacking in scientific sources. This evaluation involved thermodynamic analysis and methodology development. By examining experimental results, lnKp values for each product were computed within a temperature range of 300-800°K, allowing for the determination of the overall conversion of initial substances to products. Additionally, a proposed mechanism for the formation of these products was elucidated, and the synthesis product underwent analysis using chromatography-mass spectrometry.
